Be Not Deceived: How to Know The Truth According to the Scriptures
This is book two of a two-part series called “A Better Bible Study Method”.
“Prove all things; hold fast to what is good” (1Thess 5:21), and “Let God be true, but every man a liar” (Rom 3:4) are just two of the many verses that let us know diligence is required in seeking to learn the truth on biblical issues. But, what is the best way to prove if an idea or teaching is true?
Since “all scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2Tim 3:16), the testimony of scripture should be our measure of truth. Comparing scripture with scripture is the better Bible study method. Sadly, however, many people use other means of deciding what is true, and because of this they end up holding views that are contrary to scripture.
This “Better Bible Study Method” shows that trusting in God’s word can teach us more than the truth on various issues. For if we honor God by submitting to the authority of scripture consistently and with integrity, then the light if offers can correct us, draw us to the truth, and keep us from being deceived.
